PERCY KONQOBE
bronze sculptures


1939 Percy Konqobe was born in South Africa in the province of Gauteng and grew up in the clan of Xhosa, in which tradition an rites his grandmother brought him up.
His special sense for spirituality and mythology led him to the way of the traditional healer. Concurrently he began 20 years ago, to give his dreams and visions a shape in form of sculptures of bronze and clay.
Today Percy Konqobe is exhibiting internationally. He is working as sculpturer and sangoma in Soweto/Johannesburg.

His Excellency Sonwabo Eddie Funde, ambassador of the Republic South Africa to Germany, had personally opened this exhibition.

The exhibition is a initiative of the dreyer stiftung, Munich.
